CanadaHelps is coming to Edmonton! 

If you’re wondering what all the Web 2.0 buzz is about, and why your charity all of a sudden needs to have a profile on Facebook, Twitter within 140 characters, Blog about the latest and greatest, and subscribe to half a dozen RSS Feeds, then you should join us for a one-day series of workshops on philanthropy and social media.

We’ll tell you the good, the bad and the ugly.  We’ll tell you what’s easy, what’s challenging, what you should be doing and what might not be worth your time.  And what we can’t tell you in a day, we’ll let you know where to find out more about it.

The day consists of 4 workshops to help you get acquainted with online philanthropy:

• Philanthropy 2.0 – an overview of what Web 2.0 is all about, a refresher on Web 1.0, and a review of a few of the tools that are most popular.
• Websites 101 – understand what makes for a really good website, one that is user-friendly, attractive and drives up online donations,
• Five Pillars of Online Fundraising – the fundamentals of online fundraising, marketing your brand online, and the importance of a real call to action.
• Social Media Planning – learn how to decide which social media platforms to engage with and how to incorporate them into your existing plans.

No matter what your familiarity is with Web 2.0., you’ll be sure to walk away with some new learnings!
